Chief Patent Counsel-Optical Components (Optics)
This position is based in the Silicon Valley. Strong preference for SF Bay area candidates as there is expected to be no contribution to relocation expenses.
Well-funded company and a world leader in its industry seeks a Chief Patent Counsel who will report to the company's General Counsel. The position will be at least Director Level. Candidates must have 10-20 years of patent experience which includes substantial patent strategy and patent litigation experience combined with USPTO registration and patent prosecution. Candidates should have a degree in Physics or EE and significant experience with patents in the optics arts. Previous engineering experience as an optical engineer preferred.
This company has well over 1000 patents and so this should be a very challenging and interesting opportunity.
Base compensation limited to around $200k but there should be a very competitive bonus and stock options with great potential.

Senior Patent Counsel-Semiconductors
This position is based in the Silicon Valley. As there will be no relocation assistance, the company will only consider SF Bay Area candidates or those who can relocate themselves.
Well established and stable semiconductor company seeks a Senior Patent Counsel who will report directly to the company's General Counsel. The candidate must have a BSEE or equivalent and 5-15 years of strong semiconductor patent prosecution, patent portfolio management and strategy experience.
The Senior Patent Counsel will map IP strategy, manage an important and valuable IP portfolio and manage patent prosecution matters worldwide. S/he will also manage a team of patent engineers on a daily basis. There is already an excellent infrastructure in place to facilitate the execution of the IP role. This presents a great opportunity to enhance management skills managing a large technical staff both in the US and overseas. The company also allows for unusually flexible hours and the option of working from home a few days a week.
Base compensation will be about $200k + a real bonus and other benefits.
